Adaptation to Climate Change, Climate Protection and Energy

Together we are shaping a more climate-friendly construction industry: With innovative software, we support building certifications for sustainable construction and climate-resilient infrastructure. In this way, we significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and prepare the construction industry for the future.

The Nemetschek Group supports construction projects in obtaining internationally recognized certificates such as LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB – key standards for sustainable, climate-friendly, and energy-efficient construction. Certification systems are based on a holistic approach to the entire life cycle of buildings and serve the growing demand for sustainable construction from investors, owners, and users, as well as regulatory requirements.

How we help

  • Software-supported planning: Tools for calculating energy requirements, material life cycle assessments, and life cycle costs.
  • AI-based solutions: Intelligent systems for reducing the carbon footprint right from the design phase.
  • Open data platforms: Integration of BIM and IoT for transparent sustainability documentation.

By further developing our portfolio to reflect new regulations and market trends in the construction industry, we underscore our commitment to technological leadership in the digital transformation toward greater sustainability. This enables our customers to realize future-proof projects and actively contribute to reducing climate and environmental impacts.

Our Commitment to Climate Protection

Protecting our climate is a key responsibility that we actively embrace. Our goal is to limit global warming to 1.5°C in accordance with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Based on internationally recognized scientific standards, we are working on developing a robust climate protection plan and implementing actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, we continuously record and analyze our energy consumption and emissions, both within our direct sphere of influence and along the entire value chain. With our Group Environmental Guideline, we are committed to integrating climate and environmental protection into our operational processes.

In our Sustainability Statement, we transparently disclose our relevant data on energy consumption, energy mix, and CO₂ emissions. We consider all significant emission sources:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from own or controlled sources.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy.
  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions arising in the upstream and downstream value chain.
